| When in history has republican economics theory ever resulted in a statistical decrease in (US) unemployment? I asked a question a little while ago and I got back some good answers from some republicans and conservatives who suggested that rather than taxes and programs to help those less fortunate people in society (as proposed always by liberals) that the money should "be in the hands of people who know what to do with it" in order to help stimulate the economy. Here is another question since I recognize there could be some truth in this, possibly... These people claim that when the money is "in the hands of the RIGHT people", more jobs are created, and more people are given the opportunity to earn a living rather than just using the system to steal $ from wealthy individuals. Fascinating stuff. When was the last republican to cause as the result of his or his administration's policies an overall decrease in unemployment of american citizens recognized by a credible population survey. Really, I am curious to know, maybe then I'll believe in cutting taxes on the rich. |

| Never! The Reaganomics trickle down theory seemed to dry up before it ever got to those making less than $200,000 per annum. Must have been caused by those pesky poor people stealing from the rich by eating and paying rent to those landlords. |

| Here is a link to a interesting graph showing the increase in income for different income levels for Democratic and Republican presidents. http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/04/02/bartels-alfred-wegener/ Before you support cutting taxes on the rich get the conservatives to explain why ordinary people fare so badly under Republican presidents if their policies are so effective.
