Why are republicans so backwards thinking on economics, even after their...

...policies fail time and time again? Republican thinking:

Give tax breaks to the wealthy and they'll be able to create more jobs.

Reality:

The wealthy already have money. If they were going to use their money to create more jobs, they would have.

If you give tax breaks to the middle class, they will have more money to spend, and thus businesses will grow and create more jobs. It will also create more opportunity for new businesses, started by members of the middle class who now have some money to work with.

Three reasons:

1. Heavy brainwashing by media, church and schools.

2. Republicans have perfected the fine art of taking credit for good things and blaming bad things on the Democrats. Example: It was Clinton's fault for 9/11, but also his fault for the first WTC attacks just one month after he took office.

3. No understanding of economics.

The Republicans are not backward on their thinking, every time we have reduced taxes in the past, the economy got better. Even John Kennedy
saw this happen. Please don't fall for all these Democrat cliques," Tax break for the rich"," Bush's war", "No war for oil", "Don't starve our children" The Republicans want a tax break for the middle class just as you do. The trouble is the Democrats think we middle class are the rich!

I say it's Reagan-nomics that's come home to roost that's killing us right now. Remember the mantra, deregulate and now look at the mess we have. You would think that Savings and loan business would of woken us up before we got into the Enrons and all the rest. Take the cops off the beat and the cheats will play, and boy have they ever played, all at taxpayers expense.

In truth, both theories should work. But in the end, you are right, the Republican idea will fail. But the politician Republicans keep repeating the idea, and the Republican voters keep choosing the idea. Why?

The main reason why is that the Democrat politicians don't really have a plan. At all. You will find that most Democrat politicians make their choices and platforms based on whatever is the opposite of what the Republicans want to do; rather than based on any logical reasoning.

Sometimes they stumble on the right answer anyway (the one you gave). But you will find that most Republican voters can see the Democrat politicians have no idea what they are doing; and they'll choose the confidence of the Republican politicians regardless of the obvious repeat failures of "trickle-down economics."

But for the record, Republicans only drop taxes on the corporations; but Democrats raise taxes on everybody. The middle class is screwed by both parties. You attacked someone who is responsible, but you did not get everyone who is responsible.

Conservatives are too point-blank stupid to learn from their past mistakes.
