Economics and Micro-Lending? How is Micro-lending practiced today, or if you can give me an example of a country that still practices it so I can learn from that country. What projects are good to lend funds to or incorporate micro-loans with? What kind of steps would help borrowers use the funds profitable and return your funds with some interests?

micro-lending of micro-credit is widely practice.a good example would be grameen bank (the bank of the poor) in Bangladesh... this bank offers loans to women (men can also borrow but majority of its borrowers are women) with no collateral for the purpose to help the women build their businesses.

Miceo lending or micro finance was started by Nobel Laureate Muhammed Younus. This is widely practiced in Bangladesh and even tried in parts of India. Small projects are the best. For e.g. the borrower can buy a sewing machine and work as a tailor or a herd of cattle maybe bought. The steps would be to ascertain the "integrity" of the borrower.

Micro practiced all over and maybe even credit cards could be a version of micro lending. Any non Muslim governed country (Muslim law prohibits loans) that's third or fourth world practices micro-lending. Generally mico-loans can start small businesses with just a few hundred dollars. $500 can start up a curb side business (like a BBQ stand) in Mexico. I think creating small businesses is where most of the money goes too and the banks get the money back from the profits made by the new business.
