Economics question - also has to do with stocks?!?!????

How can I make profit in the stock market game right now when everything is going down

There is a team in another school who has 126,000 (100 thou was what everyone had to start with) and I found out that that group there is a kid who has taken AP Economics

What do you suggest that I do (currently at 96,000)

What stocks to invest in? Should I short sell?
Any advice or suggestions to get my money up

If you can SHORT sell stocks in the game, you can make money in a down market.
