Does John McCain know anything about economics? One of the most important issues in this Presidential election in The United States, in addition to National Security is the economy. John McCain is good on National Security, but so are Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are much better on the economy than John McCain. We have millions of people losing their homes through foreclosure. We have millions of people who have lost their jobs. Do we not need a President who knows how to handle issues related to the National economy in addition to National Security?

What Republican really understands the economy? Instead of real knowledge, they have a lot of half-baked ideas, like "the best way to reduce government spending is to reduce the amount of money it takes in". Yeah, THAT worked!

The economy is certainly an important issue. Clinton and Obama have both promised health care programs that we (taxpayers) cannot afford. We will only go deeper in debt. Ask some of the people who have lost their jobs and been forclosed upon what happens when you spend more than you make. We need to address the economy issue, but we do not need any give away programs. We have enough of those already. People should be responsible for themselves. It is not the obligation of government to care for us during our entire lives. There was once a time when people knew how to stand on their own two feet. We need to learn that again.

I question your assesment that Obama is strong on National Security but that is another matter. John McCain voted against George Bush's tax cuts. The housing market has nothing to do with the Presidential Administration but Bush has approved legislation to bail-out morons who signed mortgages they couldn't afford. That's about all the Government can do on this issue. In summary, yes John McCain does know his economics. And yes, the United States economy will rebound just like it always does.

Considering the caliber of the people giving McCain economic advice - I would listen to him over Hillary or Obama. The foreclosure mess is the result of stupid decisions that were made by the lending institutions and the people who took out loans they could not afford to repay. Thinking that Hillary or Obama have a clue about foreign affairs is hilarious. (Have you forgotten that McCain had to tell Obama that we have been fighting Al Queda in Iraq?)
