UC Davis vs Cal Poly Slo for electrical engineering?

My girlfriend goes to UC Davis and I'd like to join her there....are these schools close in ranking? does it really matter which school I attend? (p.s. I want to go on to get a masters Degree from a UC)
I need someone who knows what they are talking about.

Cal Poly SLO is alot better then UCD. You actually get working experience in class whereas in Davis,u get all theory lessons.
