| What you need to do is learn how to use a 3D solid modeling package. Get ahold of CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, or UNIGRAPHICS and start with the tutorial. Take a class if you can find one, but most of all learn how to use any or all of these packages. Once you have access start modeling anything and everything you can think of. The jobs are there if you have the skills. Try this approach. Learn it fast. Learn more when you get a job you found when you did a keyword search with the 3D packages found above. Jobs pay from $35-$75/hour |

| You'd get a job as a CAD operator and then move on to be a designer - you can't be an engineer with a 2 year degree, but you can make more money than an engineer if you are a good designer. One of my designers turned down an offer that would have been 300k per year in Washington state - he's been on PDS and PDMS since they came out. In contrast, I turned down an offer for 1000 a day to be a mechanical engineer in Nigeria. |
