| Help choosing an Engineering School (U of L vs Purdue)?
Well I've got it narrowed down to two: Purdue and U of L. I know alot of you guys on here are Engineers or are currently students so I was hoping you guys can give me some advice, I'll list my pros and cons I've got so far. U of L Pros: I could get my Master's on Engineering in 5 years, that includes a year and a half of co-oping. Cost- I'd get in-state tution plus a couple thousand worth of scholarships (I'd probablly pay <$10,000 a year) Cons: I'd have to go to school over the summer. Commuter school, so campus life is nowhere near Purdue's. Purdue Pros: One of the more nationally recognized Engineering schools. I'd really like to get away from home, and be able to take responsibility for myself. Much Larger Campus. Right now I like Mechanical Engineering, but my second choice would be aerospace, which U of L doesn't offer. Cons:Cost (Around $35,000 a year) Bachelor's degree in 4 years, with no co-oping. My parents plan on covering half of the tuition for which ever school I choose. So I guess really my main question would be do you think it would be better to have a Master's Degree from a school with a so-so Engineering program, or to have a Bachelor's from a fairly well known Engineering School? Thanks for the help guys |
