Can you get an engineering job in Canada with a UK degree?

I am currently looking for an engineering job in Canada. I will graduate in July this year with a 4 year MEng Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Leicester, Leicester, UK. What I want to know is that can I get a job in Canada directly, and if not, what procedures do you I have to undertake (like diplomas, conversion courses, etc.). I do not have any previous work experience as I am fresh graduate. I recently became a Canadian permanent resident, hence the need to find a job in Canada. I do not have a very good idea as to how the Canadian engineering job market works in terms of recruiting engineers (in this case fresh ones!) with UK/international degrees, so any kind of relevant answers are welcome!
