what is the use of the laplace transformes in engineering real life? and...

...is it related to civil engineering? i want to know whether we can apply some laplace transforms in our career life as civil engineers, and if the answer is yes we can, i want some examples provided with solutions and some applications on the beams and colomns in a construction or a building.
