UK: At what stage is the Army Security Clearance done for Royal Engineers

trades that require it? I've got an application going through with the Army, and I was wondering at what stage the Security Clearance will be done i.e. on application, or phase 1 basic training? I'm getting conflicting information from people.

I've lived in Canada most of my life, though I have been living in the UK for the last 8 years, so meet the residential criteria.

It will be in stage one. They will check your application form if there is anything on there they don't like you will be asked for additional information.
