| civil engineer salary? As a civil engineering student who's held some internships as well as offered jobs and looked for jobs, the salary ranges a lot. It depends on what type of field you go into specifically (construction, structural, environmental, etc.), what school you graduated from, and the area of the country (world). The highest starting salary I have seen for a B.S. in civil engineering was $78,000 and that was a company in the mid-west where everything is expanding. I attend Syracuse University and last years civil grads averaged about $44,000 (however, that DOES include students who go on to grad school and such so the actual number would be higher) |

| civil engineer salary? The average civil engineering salary reported by my school was approximately $46,000 nationwide. Of course, as stated previously, there is some variation, but that's what it boils down to. I was offered $62,000, and $45,000 in the same geographic location, but the average is a safe basis to build your conclusions. |
