chemical engineer or actuary?

I am quite confused nowadays. This is my first year at college and I want to decide my major as soon as possible. I have always been good at maths and sciences. My family wants me to go for engineering and from all the engineering fields I have searched, I find chemical engineering the best as it interests me more than other engineering field. But, at the same time, going for a maths major and then becoming an actuary also appeals me. Any one with some similar interests , or any experience in these fiels(actuarial ,chemical eng) please give me your advices. May be your advice or opinion can bring a change in my life....
