Do you think public schools should offer etiquette classes?

Do you think public schools should offer etiquette classes? Why or why not? Should they be mandatory? Optional?

Thanks in advance!
Note: This is not a homework question. I am just looking for opinions...
What if parents do not teach their children proper etiquette? How will they learn?

No. Too much money would be used for something that isn't needed.

Parents are neglecting their jobs all over the place. They will raise children like themselves. Somebody needs to teach the kids lacking in social skills, I guess. It could be taught in school if teachers would demand that the kids reply with a yes madam, please and thank you.

No that sounds like a waste of time, money and resources. Etiquette is something that should be taught by parents.

Yes I do absolutely. But first and foremost I think all schools need anti bullying classes...bullying is responsibile for more violence, mayhem and suicides than anything else.

I feel that it would be a waste of resources, however, to argue that point, if they aren't learning it at home, where and when WILL they learn it? We have sex education, teaching kids about STD's, contraception, and abstinence (which they should also be learning about at HOME), so why not? I think, much like the sex ed., it should be mandatory.

Why? Because children are generally ill-mannered little heathens because they're allowed to be that way. We can establish etiquette classes, or begin to allow teachers to use corporal punishment, again.

Ideally parents should teach their children manners. It is a HUGELY important thing since it will affect them their entire life so might as well learn it while young. Table manners can get them far in life, writing thank you notes of appreciation, saying please and thank yous all are extrememly important to getting a job, a boy or girlfriend , keeping friends and just being a good person.
BUT if the parents do NOT teach their children then I guess schools should
