| Sidewalk biking etiquette?
I live in Seattle, where it's legal to ride on sidewalks. I would prefer to bike on sidewalks whenever possible for safety reasons, although if there are a lot of pedestrians around, I will get off my bike and push it instead. Are there any hard and fast rules to riding on sidewalks? Should I ride with the oncoming traffic? Should I stay on the right side of the sidewalk? Of course I will yield to pedestrians... anything else I should know about riding on sidewalks?

Unless you're moving along at walking speed, riding on the sidewalk is more dangerous than riding in the street. Cars and trucks coming out of driveways cannot see you, and will invariably pull out in front of you, or hit you. Do what you like, but if you plan on riding to actually get somewhere, you'd be better off on the road.
