Refund Etiquette help me!? I bought an item off a person i am familiar with on an auction site. They have bought from me before and told me the item didn't work. They waited two months to tell me but i still replaced no questions asked, without making them send the item back. I decided to shop with them and i received an item that clearly has a cut mark in it. It is a purse, i went back to the auction picture and had a look and you can see in the auction picture a faint mark. This is impossible to see unless you know what you are looking for and it was not mentioned in the auction. Who would buy a brand new purse with a cut in it. I'm not rich and i am wondering if i should say something to her about it. She could obviously see she sold it to me like that, i would never do that to someone. The item i sold her that was faulty was fully sealed and unopened and i had no idea anything was wrong as you can't know that until you open it. What should i do? I feel bad to bring it up.

Why would you possibly feel bad about bringing it up? Look on auction sites people list all sort of good things in order to get you to buy the item, i.e. smoke free, pet free home, etc. It all ties in with people being honest and forthright about the item. What she did was obviously not mention it because she knew people would be less interested in it. Why would you possibly feel bad about bringing up a quality issue when it was something she did not even want to keep herself and you paid good money for it. You should let the auction site now as well.

I would bring it up. If you'd bought it in a store, would you hesitate to return it? Just because you had BUSINESS dealings with her before, doesn't mean this isn't still a business relationship and you should be getting what you paid for or a refund.
