My parents hit me. And I turned out okay... I wish we could still do that and not end up in jail... people are sissies these days.
Seriously though, remove them from the situation without exception. Teach them etiquette and then when they break the rules, send them away. No arguing, no discussing, no asking... demand it, and that is it. Kids have too many options as it is. Get all dog whisperer on your teen. Why you waited this long to teach them etiquette, is beyond me.

Another option that might work is to use things that relate to them. Girls, or boys... look for a boyfriend that can pass the parent tests. When you meet the bf/gf parents, having good etiquette helps. The girl or guy you are seeing will appreciate it too. When you have good etiquette, you command a certain level of respect. This leads to more open doors and more success. Explain that it will make it easier to advance in life. And you are competing with a lot of people for the same jobs. The good ones are far and few between. Every edge counts.
