Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? We 5 friends were supposed to meet at a restaurant and have lunch there. But 2 of them could not make it, but we had already placed orders on their behalf. So we 3 ate our food. Now is it right etiquette if we request restaurant to get the leftover food to be packed so that we could take it home. After all, food for 2 people is a good quantity and we also paid for it.What would you do in such a situation?

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? I see nothing wrong with it at all. You paid for it so you should be able to take it with you. If you don't take it with you it's just going to get thrown away. Why waste food that you could have for lunch on another day.

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? Either I'd take it and bring it to my absent friends or I'd keep it for myself, depending on whether I'm meeting them later. It's perfectly okay to get uneaten food packed and ready to go.

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? Seems ok to me to take the leftover food home, but only if the quantity is enough (like in your case).

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? If you already paid for it then it yours to take home. The resturant can't do anything with the food but throw it away.

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? It's perfectly fine. We privately refer to them as doggie bags at home, don't we? Simply ask for a container(s) for the remaining food so that you may take it home with you. All restaurants that I'm aware of are happy to do so, as they hate to see food go to waste as much as anyone. Enjoy! Oh, and the two friends who didn't notify the rest of you about their impending absences are the ones being incorrect here. As far as I can tell, they owe the rest of you a free meal the next go-round.

Is it right etiquette to request uneaten food, which you ordered in restaurant, to be packed and taken home? I believe it shows manners as you are showing that you want the food and are not wasting it. And technically, you paid for it, they want you to continue being a patron, and if that means eating the salad for lunch the next day then so be it!
