Dating phone etiquette? Did i overreact? My gf of 11/2 months is constantly checking her phone when we are together. I usually leave my phone in the other room when we are together. I told her that when she constantly checks her phone it makes me feel like she would rather be somewhere else. I also said that i don't answer my phone even though i have calls, out of respect for her and her time.

I agree! I think it is very rude for someone to talk on their cell phone in my face....whether we are at dinner, or just chillin together....I get the impression that I am boring them or that they would rather be somewhere else. More people need to practice cell phone etiquette!!!

Yeah. You kinda over-reacted. Coz you are a bit of a narcissist aren't you. But its okay. Try having really exciting conversations with her. Before you know it, she will leave the phone of her own accord because she won't want anything interrupting with your quality time.

You are right, however that may be something she needs to learn. Maybe you can show her what it feels like just one time. When she comes over have a male friend call you about every ten minutes and answer and talk to him for about one minute each time. She will soon see that your mind is not on her as it should be, but somewhere else. You may only have to do this for about one hour or less. However, if you have many other women calling you on the phone you should ignore this advise.
