As far as etiquette and treating a Polish-born american woman what are

some respectful things to do for her? Culturally, I am sure things are a little different. I want to do some of the things that maybe would be done for her in Poland that an American born person like myself ordinarily wouldn't do or think of. I do the typical things like opening the door, kiss (on the cheek) and hug her everytime i see her. I don't want to go overboard, i just want to continue doing things to impress, keep her happy, and show good respect to her.

How about take her out or make her a polish dinner a traditional one. Traditions are important to us. I am german and this is what won over my heart...

My boyfriend is from Norway and made me the best German dinner it showed me he respected and understood my culture.

Just be polite and you'll be fine. Central Europeans are not as demonstrative in affection as Americans. Most I know don't hug or kiss unless they are particularly close.

Offer her some water after she shows off her plow skills on the wheat field. Compliment her on her non-gypsy ancestry, and maybe buy her a VHS VCR for the holidays if there is a secret Santa program in effect where you both work. Refrain from telling her any Polack jokes. Offer her some Jordache blue jeans or some other outdated US clothing brand, that stuff is still red hot and en vouge in eastern Europe.

I suggest cooking her a Polish romantic dinner, consisting of bread, Kielbasa, Polish chicken soup. You can add flowers, candle light, and romantic Polish music(Behemoth or Kat) and learn to tell her she's beautiful in her native language.
Go to www.PolishForums.com and follow the links that I provided below.
