Work Place Etiquette? Have you ever received a verbal warning in the workplace? If so, how was it handled, and was there documentation shown to you in a written form? Were you informed when you were being repremanded that it was in fact a warning?

A received a verbal warning for not using safety practices properly once. They told me that if I continued in that manner and they caught me at it that I COULD be let go. They brought me to the manager's office and showed me that they were putting it in writing and they signed it and I had to sign it and explain how I was going to fix the situation. The latter part was optional, but I explained how anyway.

I've given verbal warnings, and they are indeed verbal. You should clearly be told that it's a warning, as well as what is wrong and what you'll need to do to change. Your manager should meet with you periodically after that to assess your progress. If things work out and progress is made towards the goals, good. If not, then you're in danger of losing your job. Hope it works out!

IT depends on the circumstances. A verbal warning can just be " hey you did this wrong". If you get told that to many times your out. Alternatively if it means you did something offencive and people are complaining about you. You can be sent away right there and ten. It can also be it is recorded and they keep a record if you get to any or refuse to change your ways they fire you. In some places you get a warning verbally , then a written one. Depending on the matter you might get a fine ether way.
