etiquette for a baby shower? hello, my brother and his wife just found out they are pregnant. this is their second marriage. both brought two kids each into the marriage (4 altogether). ages, 8, 6, 6, and 3. now that they are pregnant with their first together, what is the ettiquette for a baby shower? Do we throw a baby shower for them? or not since they already have kids? any suggestions on what to do would be helpful.

Maybe, just because its their first child together. I think that would be nice. Plus with all those kids added into to the equation already, I'm sure they could use all the help they can get. And showers are always fun. I think the only way it would be tacky is if they ASKED for a shower.

When I met my fiance he had a 7 year old daughter, 10 months ago we had a baby, and I had a baby shower, also my SIL is pregnant with her second child and we are having a small shower for her as well. It is really up to you if you want to throw them a shower. Seeing as how it is their first child together I don't see why not. It doesn't have to be a formal shower, it could be just a small family celebration. I have known people that have 4 or 5 kids (all with their husband) and have had showers for each and every one. It isn't as taboo as it used to be so if you want to throw one go for it!

It's really up to them. If they would like a baby shower than it's perfectly fine. It's very common these days to show showers for each pregnancy a woman has. Baby showers are a celebration about a new life not just about gifts and cake. Just throw it like a normal baby shower. It'll be neat to have the big brothers/sisters to be involved as well. Good luck
