| In the US, specifically NY, can anyone advise on tipping etiquette in bars etc? I know Restaurants, taxis etc are 15% of the bill, but someone told me each drink is a $1 tip in a bar. So like, if you get 2 beers in one go (one for me and one for my girlfriend) that's $2? Also, do you just hand the money over after paying for you drink (as if you're paying again or something) or put it in a pot on the bar or something? I realise this might sound stupid, but I've never tipped a bartender in my life (from UK where it isn't the custom) and I don't want to appear a dork infront of my girlfriend! Thanks      |
