Do you have good perfume etiquette?

I love fragrances and wear them frequently. The older I get though I notice I get headaches around them more and more. Yesterday I ended up sitting near two women who smelled like the bottle broke on them and it made wonder if I ever smelled like this. Do you know if you wear too much perfume? How did you find out?
