When watching tv, I saw a review for a family fantasy move, Foreign film,

similar to Harry Potter...? Can't remember what the movie was called....Can anyone help?
It's a 2008 foreign film, (I beleive from Italy) that's suposed to be like Harry Potter, a family fantasy film...If anyone knows the names, please help
