I really want to know how Catholics and Baptists, heck, everyone of any religion, treats those who leave their religion for another. Is the attitude exhibited in the above question typical of all religions?

In my opinion, it sounds very much cult-ish if you are forbidden from interacting with people of other faiths/groups, and I certainly would not call that healthy.

I am from the Unitarian Universalist tradition, and if our members want to, we actively encourage them to explore other religions in their spiritual search.

Dear Abby, Our son writes that he is taking Judo. Why would a boy who was raised in a good Christian home turn against his own?
