...what colors should we wear? In the photo will be me, my husband, and 3 year old daughter.
Last year I wore an olive green sweater and it did not turn out well at all...I need suggestions!!! I don't know anything about photography and colors, etc...

I would see what everyone else is going to wear first and see if everyone should wear the same color. If not I woul wear something that would look good with both colors. Such as a dark red or even burgendy. But some tha's not to loud. And no white, it's to common. And it also depends on how the back grond is set up.... like is the pattern style? Just go with that, you wouldn't want your outfit to clash with the background.

bright. no white, stands out. no black, blneds in. muted colors will make the photo dull. so bright

You want something that allows your body to show and frames your faces.
Maybe a lighter blue than the background or a darker blue than the background but not contrasting colours.
You want your faces noticed, not your clothes.
Faces like flowers, bright against dull.
