I got this from my mom:
A whole chicken: about $4.00
A can of mushroom soup:about $.99
An oninion:about: $.50
Some rice: about $1.50

Cook together, it lasted for a few days and served a family of 4
I know some filipinos who make pansit (spelling?) using top ramen, vienna sauges, and some vegetables.
