Whats the diffrence between a Family practice doctor and a general pratice?

Ok so I am wanting to get seen by a doctor I have seen my gyno now I need to see a doctor for the following can someone tell me what kind of a doctor I need to see. I have always had a bad habit of biting my nails and my thumbs don't look so hot I would like some medication for that I think it's some sort of a fungus. And I would also like to see a doctor for help on maintaining a healthy weight and weight loss. So can someone tell me what kind of doctor I need to see for these and what the diff is between a family and general practice doctor is.
when ever i look it up on my insurance diffrent doctors come up in each section
