Do you think a wife should pay back her husband, when she visits her family and her husband accompanies her ?

I haven't seen my family for 5+ years including my Mother and want to see her however with bills and other household finances I am a little strapped for cash, after much arguement my husband reluctantly has agreed to help with the costs, but wants to be paid back. Do you think this is fair?
