My boyfriend is Mean too me.. and my family doesn't like him either.?

I've been with my boyfriend mike for three years and he's allways mean too me and blames me for everything that goes wrong in our lifes.. why is he like this... could be have been treated bad as a child and now as an adult he's taking all his anger and frustrating as a child out on me.. was his parents abuive to him... he even hits Me his own girlfriend.. ! can you believe that.. mike is slow and attend a specal school he is 27. doesnt work i pay all the bills.. allthough he works off the books. How can i tell mike to stop treating me bad..? when i start to tell him.. he laughts and says what are retarted? my family doesnt like him all execpt for my mom who tryed to get me away from him. he yells and screams and throws temper tantruns when he dont het his way.. should a 27 year old act like this or his own age.. just because i bitch at him doesnt give him the right to hurt me.. im on medication for depression.. and he is Not on medication all and seem to think he dont need it! help!!
