Some of our family members are relocating from Oregon to tennesse. Help...

...with transporting our pets.? they have a cat that is about 15 years old that is loved very much. Is there a reasonable way of transporting an animal like this, without costing an arm and a leg ? I think they may take the train but may fly depending on the animals. Anyone have any suggestions would be helpful Thank you.
