gender U/S tmrw this is the first U/S,twins run in the family they listened to the heart once.is it possible?

im 20 weeks pregnant. they have only listened to the heart beat 2 times and both times it was in completely different spots and as soon as they heard it they stopped listening. could they're still be twins in there? i feel kicks really low one min. and right after i feel it real high. everyone swears im having twins bc its my generation to have them. is it possible even after hearing only one heartbeat? they didnt try to listen to two they heard that one and quit.
