What are some interesting things to do in Boston with a family of four (with teens)?

What are some interesting things to do in Boston with a family of four (with teens)?

I'm going to boston in August with my mom, dad, brother (14 years old) and I am 17 years old.

If you can supply me with unique things to do or places to go that would be great! (not like the typical things you would see in travel guides)

Oh I forgot to mention we also may stop by Salem for a day trip so suggestions for that would be much appreciated!
