His family hates me any advice?

We have been together for 5 years. We have 2 kids. We are now great, happy, bought a home together & are getting married next sept. Now his family.. He has 3 sisters & a niece that HATE me. I am not a fighting person. I try to get along with everyone. Well for 5 years i have put up with everything from being yelled at, told i was going to get my butt kicked, called horrible names, All of which has happened in front of my kids. I've also had one hit me. I may have joked around with them, and said stuff back but i have never provoked any of these attacks. Well, this last one was the last draw. I was threatened and then personally attacked in front of my kids. My man stood up & yelled at his sister for what she was doing. We left and He said we would not be back. I refuse, to let my kids 7 & 2 to see this stuff anymore then what they have. now he is being told that he is wrong and hurting the kids. I refused to put up with this anymore & dont want to have my kids or myself around them. ?
