I told a friend about a personal family problem.... was it the right thing to do?

The person I told is not a very close friend but someone I feel reasonable comfortable with... The only problem s, he is also friends with my brother... I told him some really personally things and I don't know if I did the right thing. It's got to a stage where I had to tell someone about it because not much is being done around me, I'm just not sure whether he was the right person to tell.

He said he had to go for a while and would be back straight after I told him , I'm not sure how he took it... I hope I haven't ruined my brother's reputation with what I said to him. The person I told is also spiritually knowledgeable and can explain thing sin a deeper meaning, hence why I told him...

I'm just worried about how he may act and a little guilty for telling him.... I feel awful but I guess I had to tell someone... Was it right to tell him?

I'm not worried I just feel a little guilty.... I'd rather tell soemone about it than not bother because i'm so worried about my brothers reputation...
