| My brother is affecting my whole family? My brother is about 16 years old and is very "sick" as my parents would say. He has been in rehab before for drugs addictions and he has been in clinics that were to help him get over depression and his addictions. Now i thought things were getting better, but my parents just told me that he is in California for a little while. When they meant for a little while they meant for months. They said he was going there to get help because he was in some BIG trouble. I know its good for him but it's really affecting my sister and me. I am going to a therpist and it doesn't seem to help. I just don't know what to do. Any ideas?      |

| You and your family need to get to Al anon and fast.. I promise if you go to a few meetings with the parents.. it will help you learn how to cope with the effects of addiction. I know the pain and confusion that go along with loving an addict.. and when I found al anon it changed my whole life and in ways I never thought.. No one else in my family got any help, and I see how dysfunctional they all act now that I am getting a healthier mind.. I am sure the re hab place will suggest some family , but go the extra mile tohelp yourself recover from this.. It affects everyone in different ways.. good Luck |
