Should I even bother to confront my family? Today my son turned 17 and not...

...one person from my family, or his? Dad's family (we have been divorced for 9 years) called him today. I have no intention of confronting his Dad's side of the family, but should I confront my Mom? My brother and my sister? I have ALWAYS acknowledged their children's birthday's with phone calls and gifts and we are talking many years. My niece is going to be 25 this year, one of my nephews will be 28, one will be 17 and the other just turned 10 in February. I am very upset about this and all I want to do is tell them what sorry people they are for not calling him, but I know it wouldn't do any good. My son didn't mention anything, and neither did I. He came home from work tonight and checked his email and there was nothing there from family... What would you do if your family did this to your kid??

Are you sure he is even upset about it or is it just you that is upset about it? He may not have even really noticed. I don't think I would notice if my family didn't call on my birthday, except for maybe my mom. Of course, I am bad at remembering birthdays myself, so I tend to be understanding if someone forgets my birthday. Call your mom and tell her about the birthday celebration you are having or had for your son. She may at that point realize that she forgot his birthday and feel bad enough on her own.

let them know that you no longer will acknowledge anyone else's b-day...until they make a calendar on everyone who is to be remembered....starting with your sons.
what they did was cruel...no one forgets a grandson's b-day....if you love them...and don't have an illness with the brain.
I know he was very hurt although nothing was said.....be sure and give him an extra hug..
