depending on the ages of your children take them to play groups to meet other parents. participate in their school..join up has group meetings that might interest you. if you are religious join in there. your local humane society always needs help. volunteer. meet your neighbors by inviting them all over for a pot luck meal. or just knock on their door and introduce yourself. the only way to meet people is to put yourself out there.

I just moved back to the state my family lives in, but lived out of state for about 4 years. It is hard. see if there is a single parents group in your town, pta meetings, ywca.....I am sure there are others that feel that same as you and need the support from you as well. Good luck

My husband and I moved from SC three years ago and I knew no one. I was very lonely and depressed at first. But we found a wonderful church and have made friends there. I also joined a local branch of MOMS Club international, an organization for sahms that I had belonged to in my former state. You may not be religious or a sahm but that doesn't mean you can't follow my example. The thing to do is find out about the civic and social organizations in your town and join the ones that interest you. Get involved and you will meet people who share your interests and will become your friends. It's harder when you're an adult to make new friends but it isn't impossible.
