If family life was so peachy "before feminism" then why were dads spending such...

...little time with their kids? "Between 1965 and 2003, men tripled the amount of time they spent on child care. During the same period, women also increased the time spent with their children, suggesting mutual interest in a more hands-on approach to child-raising."

Sounds like kids are getting a far better deal nowadays.
Lol, if a parent spends no time with their children its all moot anyway. They don't know what the kids are doing at school, or who their friends are. This is how it used to be. Dad was distant, when dad was home he needed 'peace and quiet' and everyone walked on eggshells.
There is no problem with my logic; unlike yourself I wasn't born yesterday and I remember how things used to be.

Kapitein Wreker has a spectacular aura about
Funny, my mother's father spent most of his life down a coal mine, yet she still has dozens of stories involving him in her life and that of the rest of the family.
For the industrial working class, before about 1950, men and woman worked long hours. One could easily argue that working women in the 19th and early 20th centuries didn't spend enough time with their kids, there were many full orphanages and workhouses. Only legislation changed that. Newer legislation has made it easier for dads to spend more time with their kids. Not having to spend 10 hours a day blowing glass or mining coal helps a lot.
Supporting these moves is only one part of feminism. And because it is 'fem'-inism it has a particular agenda.
