Sims 2 Family Loading Problem?

Today I went to play Sims 2. When I went to load my family it just kept loading and loading. I tried a another family but still it never loaded. I tried re-installing it, it worked once and when I quit and tried loading again it never loaded. Can someone please help?????? It's getting so frustrating!
