If you had been born into a family of a different faith...?

do you think you would be that faith now? Or do you think you would find the faith you have currently, despite the odds?

I'm not religious, so I couldn't answer this, but probably. Typically, people born Muslims stay Muslims and people born Christians stay Christians.

I would be smart enough to find the truth for myself..I would seek answeres on my own which I did ..I wasn't raised in any faith ..Faithless! And the things I did here about God only scared me and turned me away , How wrong they all were ....

Good question !

It's an embarrassing exclamation of arrogance when one claims their religion is not based on environmental factors. Imagine each soul being placed into a different fetus, would each person really have the same faith they do now? This conclusion would be absurd considering the statistics.

The problem, however, is that if a "believer" admits this, then they implicity admit that their religious choice is not their own, and neither is their neighbor's. So how could any god reward or punish based on this happenstance (that is in his power to control)?

Oh yeah, and no I wouldn't be an atheist if I had been raised with different experiences.

I believe that my God is Sovereign and that He predestinates all things, that is maybe why even though I was born from a different faith, the Lord has brought me to this faith I have now despite the odds.

i was born and raised in a god loving home. everyone in my family is christian, going to church every sunday and wednesday, every bible school, homecoming, revival, etc etc.

i am the only athiest. they don't know because it would only cause them hurt feelings, and quite frankly it isn't even an issue.
