My family is looking into buying a wolfdog pup.. Good idea?

My family has been looking for the perfect animal for a while now, and we came across these beautiful hybrids last night, and looked for more information and reputable breeders. I have heard mixed things about these creatures, and I am looking for more information on them. My family once owned a Husky with some wolf in him, but sadly, he died and we are looking for another companion. He was by far the best dog that we had ever had, and never had an aggressive bone in his body. Currently, I am looking the most at this site here: http://chaparralk-9.com/

They have a lot of information that is common on other sites when doing research on them. We plan on getting one as a cub from a breeder who is responsible, and who has lots of experience. Totally captive born and bred, none from the wild. Has anyone ever owned one of these dogs?
