Financial Aid Question?

filled out a application for the 2008-2009 school year and got excepted for a Federal Pell Grant. Thats great, but it does not start until fall classes and I wanted to take summer classes. In order to recieve aid for summer classes would of had to fill out a 2007-2008 application. Now is it okay to do so, or will it take away my grant? I emailed my adviser, and im waiting to hear back from her, I was just wondering if any of you guys have had the same prob or anything. Also what happens to the left over money from the grant that is not used? Thanks!

Usually financial aid doesn't cover summer classes. You will have to take out a separate loan for that. Aid covers only fall and spring semesters. Also, if you have any money left cover from financial aid you may get that back in a check. I once got a check for about $2400. However, i recently got a check for only 80 bucks. i think that it just depends on the school

I think you'll probably have to pay for the summer classes out-of-pocket or from a loan. You get a check for the left-over money from your grant. It's a pretty sweet deal, but it goes much too fast.
