| Financial Aid for Low GPA Student? I'm 22 and have been at a community college for 4 years now and haven't been able to make it. I've had to work 45-60 hours a week to live. Then I wasn't able to keep up on my schoolwork. My grades are basically either As for Fs with little in between. I know that I am capable because I graduated HS with a 3.6 GPA. I've decided that to get this done I need to go to a four year school and just live there instead of having to pay for life in the outside world. I've been admitted but my problem is that my GPA is to low to receive financial aid from them and even if I did my EFC is almost $10,000. My parents haven't given me any money and didn't have their part of the FAFSA filled out for my first three years of community college. I have over $5000, possiblly nearly $6000 in a 401k. Can I use this to get started without penalty. I heard onetime that if you rolled your 401k into a IRA that you could somehow use the money for education. What other types of loans would u advise? |

| Check FASFA's web site to see if your state offers low interest student loans. The loans are paid directly to the college and you pay them back after graduation, usually a 6 month deferral. I found this yahoo answer to the 401K question on the web http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1005121605467 |
