Dana has a spectacular aura about
If my husband and I file our tax return separately, do I have a better

chance for college financial aid? We are a middle income family, He works full time, I work very part time, and attend college. Even though they say our EFC is 14000 that does not mean we have it! Previous student loans, mortgage, bills etc all add up. I am never eligible for anything beyond an unsubsidized federal loan, and our credit is shaky at best, we are not eligible for a private loan. If we file "married filing separate" will I be able to receive additional financial aid?
