| SM is right, go to the fafsa.ed.gov site and apply...if you want courses for the summer, you will need to fill out the 2007 - 2008 application. Make sure you know the school that you want to take the distance courses from because it will ask you for that information. If you are under 24, you will most likely need your parents tax info. If they do not support you, then the school can help you be qualified as an independent student...that is not easy to do. If you just want classes for the fall through next summer, then apply for the 2008 - 2009 application and have yours/and possibly your parents taxes with you. Go to the school you plan on attending and be sure to have filled out the admissions application and that it is in the system...financial aid departments can not award you money until you are properly admitted into the school. This little bit of information here should give you an idea of what you need to get the ball rolling. Go to your FA office this week, if you go too far past priority deadlines you might have to start making payments on the classes you want. |

| yes and the only site you should use is fafsa.ed.gov. DO NOT use fafsa.com. you DO NOT pay a fee to fill out financial aid forms. the only downside to online colleges? if they aren't accredited, then you probably won't get financial aid. but you'll find out when you fill out the form. they have a GIANT list of colleges to choose from. if yours makes the list, you're golden! |
