...married the previous year? I am reapplying for my FASFA and they have requested to see my husband's financial documents. I understand they have the right to do that, however they go by the previous years W-2's. Well, we weren't married last year. Do they still have the right to request such documents even though we weren't married last year ( we also have not lived together for a year before we got married).

They can ask. I doubt it will affect your eligibility for financial aid though... so don't sweat it.

I think they will ask the status of when he filed, so if you put single for his W2 status you will be fine.
