Melissa has a spectacular aura about
what does a EFC 22440 mean? does that mean that im never going to receive financial

aid.? while filling out my fafsa i had to include my parents income and stuff but i dont live with them. i know im still considered as "dependent" because im only 22 and im not married but i live with my aunt not my parents and she doesnt claim me on her income taxes. does that have anything to do with my EFC being so high?

An efc that high would mean you most likely aren't going to recieve much if anything at all. Your parents must have a high income level, which would be why your EFC is ridiculous. I don't know what to tell you except to take out some loans for college because you're going to probably need them. Good luck.

EFC=expected family contribution. I actually ran into the same thing in undergrad. My parents claimed me as a dependent so I had to include their income. So, the FAFSA adds all that up to get the EFC. You will qualify for stafford loans (everyone does) but only for the unsubsidized (this means your interest accrues as you go through school unless you pay it).

Probably, your parents still claim you as a dependent. If no one claims you as a dependent you are not required to enter in your parents income. If no one is claiming you on their taxes, that probably means you either messed up in filling out the FAFSA or you make a ton of money.

Either way, good luck.
