college student paying for school.Do I get any tax deductions or anything?

OK so I work full-time.Both parents wont help pay for my education.I live with my grandparents and I am 19 soon to be 20.I finally have enough money saved to return to community college. My question is I cannot qualify for any kind of financial aid/grants and so forth because I need to provide my parents tax information and so forth and they wont disclose it.According to someone who works in the financial aid dept in my school she told me I cannot file for myself until I am 25.My parents are legally responsible for my education costs until I am 24.So I am left to pay for school out of pocket. So my question is, If I do pay for school out of pocket, will I get any of that money back, when I file for my taxes? I am really running of optimism,so please if anyone has any information it would be great. Thanks

Yes, you do get a tax break if you're in college, especially if it's your first college degree program.

What kind of parents do you have? I think that is sick. Can your grandparents persuade them to at least give a copy of their tax? If they are legally responsible for your education, can legal aid society help you? People who wont pay for their childs education should not be parents. I am so so sorry for you.
